In Northern Region for Chitipa and Rumphi teachers, the training was conducted at Karonga Teachers’ Training College. The training was officially opened by the District Education Manager for Chitipa Mr. Chiwowa. The facilitation on Children’s rights offered by Mr. Chiwowa ended up with interesting outcomes among the attending teachers who contributed with child-rights based teaching and learning approaches to let children stay in school.
In the Southern Region for Machinga and Nsanje, the training was conducted at DAPP Malawi’s Chilangoma Teacher Training College. There were revealing discussions around how to make the classroom be a home for children’s education. Firm experiences were shared which were based on circumstances some teachers came across in their teaching career. Encouragements were made to be role models in advancing what has been gained at the training session with other teachers including those from neighboring schools.
In the Central Region for Lilongwe and Ntchisi teachers, the training was conducted at DAPP Malawi Dowa Teacher Training College. The training engaged the teachers on approaches vital to support education development at the early stage of primary schooling. The teachers encouraged each other to continue implementing all activities of Let the Children Stay in School project which are registering a number of positive impacts in the schools.
The working together with the Ministry of Education officials at district level especially their facilitation support helped to strengthen policy adherence and emphasize the essence of the project.
