The Support to Nutrition Improvement Component “A” projects in Chiradzulu and Blantyre Districts seek to contribute to overall reduction of child stunting, maternal and child anemia in Malawi. This is expected to be achieved through enhancing and scaling up maternal and child nutrition service delivery at community level in Chiradzulu district. Specifically the project intends to: Reduce malnutrition amongst infants and children, Reduce child stunting and reduce child and maternal anemia among poor rural communities in the country.
The first funding cycle of the project started in February 2014 and ended in 2016, but the project was extended for the next 18 months beginning from March 2016 to August, 2017. The project in Chiradzulu is being implemented in 6 Traditional Authorities targeting 310,000 people and; 4 Traditional Authorities in Blantyre targeting 200,000 people.
