Statistical Analyst Intern


Development Aid from People to People (DAPP Malawi) is a non-governmental organization with over 21 years of experience in the implementation of development projects in Malawi through its programs in agriculture, community development, education and health.

DAPP Malawi has a Statistical Analyst Internship opening to be filled by 1st June 2017 at its National Partnership Office in Lilongwe.


The successful candidate should:
•    Have an analytical/quantitative background as well as have knowledge of and/or experience working with complex datasets.
•    Contribute as a team member in proactively developing methods for capturing, storing of projects’ data
•    Automate manual processes as directed by the Head of Grants Administration as well as seek out these opportunities and proactively make improvements
•    Support the Grants Administration Department by ensuring superior data quality


•    Proficient with the Microsoft products (Excel, Access, SharePoint)
•    Experience working with distributive reporting tools a plus
•    Experience with SQL, VBA, or similar programming language
•    Experience with web-based survey software a plus
•    Demonstrated data analysis skills
•    Detail-oriented and good organizational skills


•    Advanced Diploma in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field (Bachelor’s degree, or near completion an added advantage)
•    Coursework/experience in research methods and statistical analysis is helpful
•    Demonstrated advanced Excel and Access knowledge
•    Demonstrated experience with statistical software, such as SPSS preferred
•    Knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation data tools

Preferred candidates should be resident in Lilongwe. The Intern will be provided with allowances during the internship and free lunch and refreshments.
