Farmers’ Clubs Dowa Phase II
The project was designed to contribute to reduction of poverty and increased equality between women and men and is reaching about 4250 women farmers in the Dowa. In 2016, the project established 15 new clubs of 50 small scale women farmers (750 farmers) 10% of the new farmers females with disability. The 3500 farmers who started in 2013 will be working in their cooperatives. The project has adopted the business approach that will facilitate for farmers to develop farming as a business. The project will include value chain development and marketing of farmer produce.
This project is a continuation of DAPP Dowa Women Farmers’ Club Project that was implemented in the period 2012-2014. The current project life span is up to December 2017 and is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Finland and UFF Finland.
