Case Story – Hendrina Khutula, Welding and Fabrication student

Hendrina Khutula is a student at DAPP Mikolongwe Vocational school who is advancing her Welding and Fabrication skills at the school. She was trained at Milonga Vocational school in Thyolo district where upon completion she received start up tools and established a welding business at Goliati Trading centre in the district.

She said as a female running a welding and fabrication shop, she drew attention of most people from the surrounding area who generally considered welding and fabrication a masculine job.

She said it was this attention that drew customers for her as it seemed appealing to the people who were looking for welding and fabrication services.
Hendrina is currently advanced her welding and fabrication skills which will enable her to produce more and advanced materials.
With an advantage of already existing customers, Hendrina says she looks forward to continuing her business upon completion of the training at Mikolongwe.
