Chief of Health Services in the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Charles Mwansambo was the guest of honor and emphasized on the importance of getting tested “I, therefore, urge our men, adolescents and young women to undergo testing, and once they test positive, they should be linked to treatment services and ensure that they are virally suppressed”
The day remembers and honors lives lost to AIDS-related illnesses and provides an opportunity to encourage those living with HIV to champion the fight against HIV & AIDS and advocate for increased resource allocation. The commemorations started in 1983 and takes place every third Sunday of May.
