Farmers’ Clubs Chiradzulu Women

Farmers’ Clubs Chiradzulu was implemented in Chiradzulu district in Traditional Authority Ntchema for three years. The project started in May 2015 and its overall objective was to contribute to social and economic empowerment of 1,200 female farmers in Chiradzulu district. The project’s ideas included increasing farmer’s income through the production of groundnuts as the cash crop, to increase food security by organizing the farmers into clubs. Besides, farmer’s clubs were involved in activities such as conservation agriculture, crop diversification, livestock pass-on and small scale irrigation. The project was funded by Sympany of Netherlands.
